Finally made a UI I like!

Post by Psuedo » Fri Jul 02, 2010 5:28 pm

I change UI like once every two weeks since I always get bored of them and find something annoying about them. I think I've finally made one I'll keep :) Clean but stylish! Great on 24" monitor.

What do you guys think?

I'd customize Sexymap to fit in with rest of the UI, it sticks out like a sore thumb. Look at how much screenspace it takes up compared to the actual area it displays, basically it takes just as much space as a square but shows less information.

I do like how the UI follows the same "pattern" so to speak. The map is a bit off though.

I am personally against showing actionbars like that - a big clump of spells at the bottom of the screen. Mostly because I prefer clean, minimalistic UIs. Additionally cause I don't really see a reason why you should have your actionbars visible aside from reactive spells, cooldowns and spells with cooldowns. I mean, unless you're a clicker, the spells are in your fingers and you don't need to see them.

I'll post my UI when I've finished editing DBM and Recount. *nods*

e: You should get an addon for your buffs as well. SatrinaBuffFrames used to be great, but they've screwed up sizing so I wouldn't recommend it anymore.

Agreed. Got another to recommend? I used to use SBF also. :(

I haven't found one that is compatible with ButtonFacade. On SBF's homepage there's an explanation how to resize, but it doesn't make any sense.

I'm planning to take a day off soon to really focus on rebuilding my UI. (In time for Cataclysm - lol) If I find anything out of interest, I'll shout.

I am using Satrinas atm, and they work perfectly fine for me (besides being unable to right click on buffs to remove them).
No problem whatsoever with resizing.

Please teach me your awsomeness.

Seriously though. How did you manage to desipher "Use the sizing mechanisms for each element on its tab." It makes little sense to me.

I didn't read that, I just tried some stuff and it worked =p

Though you gotta resize everything by itself, suchs as Icons, bar, timers etc.
For the icons, go to the Icon tab, and there is a box with a number in it labeled Icon size, there you put in the size you want for the icon. Just adjust the texts for timers/counts to fit well and your done =)
